Israel Baker passed away December 25, 2011, days after suffering a stroke. Baker was one of the foremost violinists of the last century, and a major figure in the musical life of Hollywood. Please stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

ARMEN GARABEDIAN

 A special concert will be presented to honor the memory of Armen Garabedian, who passed away in August 2011. Mr. Garabedian was an exceptional musician, well known to many of us in the Los Angeles musical community. He was a good friend, a beautiful soul, and an inspiration to us all. The New Valley Symphony sponsors the concert, where he served as music director and conductor. It will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Hall of Liberty, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive.

ROGER WILLIAMS
(1924 - 2011)
Life Member. Piano

Roger Williams, best known for his composition "Autumn Leaves," the only piano instrumental to reach #1 on the Billboard pop chart, died Oct. 8 2011 from pancreatic cancer. He was 87.

A Life Member of Local 47, Roger Williams is ranked by Billboard magazine as the top-selling piano recording artist in history, with 18 gold and platinum albums to his credit.
